Black bears are the least aggressive of bears and when left alone will leave you alone. Most definitely enjoy the bears from the comfort of our home but NEVER approach a bear. Besides our stringent routine cleaning procedures, we use the highest classification of disinfectants recommended by the CDC. Being we are in a mountain forest setting you can expect to see wildlife like black bears, deers, jack rabbits, and birds. Most people have a fear of bears but they are docile and when left alone they will leave you alone. We encourage you to enjoy their beauty from afar but please Do not Feed the wildlife or approach them. If you encounter a black bear on a hike, remain still; stand your ground but slowly wave your arms and make lots of noise. Help the bear recognize you as a human. It may come closer or stand on its hind legs to get a better look or smell. A standing bear is usually curious, not threatening.
